Apparatus of a Pool Heat Pump Explained

In summary, a pool heat pump is taking the heat from outside air and transferring it into your Pool water though Electric. First reaction: What the hell are you talking about, hot water is another term for electricity and/or gas. Yet with a pool heat pump, the idea is to move what warmth already exists rather than creating new one.

The heat pump has a large fan, located on the top of it, that sucks in all air from outside. That air is then routed over a specific coil that contains refrigerant liquid. As the air passes by, it gives its heat to that fluid and makes it become a gas. Over time, the gas that is circulated through the coil gets warmer and warmers.

At the same time, another set of coils placed in the pool water is responsible for heating up this latter one. That hot gas passes over coils through which the water flows and gives up its heat to them. Ultimately, the gas chills and changes back into a liquid for another start to this cycle.
